Sky Candy Shows & Events

Sky Candy shows and events are a big part of our overall company mission of “circus is for every body”.

In all of our performances, you’ll find our stage filled with diverse bodies ranging in size, age, ability, gender expression, racial background, and lived experiences. We are proud to offer a safety-minded, inclusive artistic outlet for folks from many backgrounds to share the same stage and tell their stories through aerial and circus arts. With shows and showcase themes ranging from the deeply profound to the deeply silly (and sometimes things that combine the two), we welcome audiences to run away and join us in this adventure here in Austin, TX!

We open our stage to local and traveling performance companies in need of a versatile venue as their creative outlet.

Need to add some flair to your next event? Sky Candy performers are available for aerial and ground acts at all sorts of events from fundraisers to holiday parties to community events and more. Find more information about hiring our performers here.

  • Bloodsuckers! All Ages Student Showcase

    Friday, Oct 16, 7:30pm

    It's Vampire Weekend! (no not that one)

    From Count Dracula to mosquitoes and Count von Count to phlebotomists, join us as we celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with BLOODSUCKERS! 

    Our incredible students have been working hard on their routines for this fan-favorite Halloween season show, and we are blown away by the creativity with this theme! (YES - we do have a phlebotomist act!)

  • Buffy Lives!

    Saturday, Oct 17, 8pm

    This is an 18+ only show

    Soothe your once-more-with-hurt-feelings over the WRONGFUL cancellation of the official Buffy reboot with Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Aerial Show: The Reboot: BUFFY LIVES!  

    You might feel like nothing here is real, nothing here is right, but this show will give you something to sing about as we invite our highly talented cast of aerialists, burlesque performers, and circus acts to show up and show out with their favorite moments from across the Buffyverse!

2025/26 Season

  • No One Mourns the Wicked. December 12, 2025 - Just in time for the release of the second installment of the Wicked movie, we're celebrating the cultural moment that is Ariana Grande and Cythia Erivo's BFF-dom as told through the story of Glinda and Elphaba.

  • The Rain Whorest Cafe, June 6, 2026 - The chemicals in the water are turning the friggin frogs gay! Birds aren't real - the government replaced them with spy drones! There are no gay animals (at least if you believe scientific papers). One might say the show theme is really just queer animals, but we would not turn down a little dash of making fun of some of the most ridiculous conspiracy theories out there.

  • Buffy Lives!, October 17, 2026 - Are you super sad the Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot didn’t happen?? US TOO! So we are reviving the only show we have ever FULLY sold out two full performances IN ADVANCE. This time, we invite performers to do acts celebrating all things Buffyverse! Want to do a song from the musical episode? yes! Pay tribute to the terrible bands from the Bronze? Also yes! Dance in the air about that one time they turned Angel into a puppet?? DOUBLE YES! This show is part of our October extravaganza, Vampire Weekend: The Weekend, our bloodthirsty weekend of shows!

  • Sky Candy: The Musical. December 13, 2025 - Welcome, you gorgeous collection of reprobates and rascals, acrobats and aerialists, thespians and theatre nerds, welcome to Sky Candy: The Musical! Join us in the room where it happens for our December student showcase, where we'll listen to the music of the night and dance in the heights. Come on your own or bring your girlfriend who lives in Canada to experience 525,600 minutes of aerial magic.

  • Heartbreaker, a 2-night Student Showcase Extravaganza! February 6, 2026 & February 7, 2026 - Everyone’s favorite sinfully delicious 18+ student showcase returns just in time for Valentine’s Day! Our Amazing student performers will channel all the rage, heartbreak, angst, and maybe even joy of their very best breakup stories into aerial or burlesque routines. This one is for adults only! (18+).

  • 5 6 7 8 Youth Aerial Recital, May 30, 2026 - Following the success of our 2025 youth recital, we are offering this special show featuring our amazing youth performers!

  • Pride Parade, June 5, 2026 - We like to march to the beat of our own drum around here, and for our Pride 2026 student showcase, we’ll be encouraging students to be their proudest, loudest selves in our Pride Parade-themed student showcase!

  • Bloodsuckers, October 16, 2026 - This all ages student showcase will invite students to do acts as their favorite bloodsuckers -- whether they be vampires, leeches, zombies (I mean you gotta eat some blood if you eat brains, right?), mosquitos, and other things that go bump in the night -- and maybe wanna eat you. This show is part of Vampire Weekend: The Weekend, our bloodthirsty weekend of shows!

  • Legend of the Realms

    Second Saturdays every month

    Legend of the Realms is a fantasy performance experience where artists compete, heal, and transform before a live audience. Born in Austin and rooted in black and queer imagination, each gathering unfolds like a new chapter.

    Entre Dos Cielos is a 75-minute multidisciplinary performance exploring the deep cultural roots connecting Texas and Mexico. Through contemporary circus, dance, physical storytelling, and live music, the production explores the shared histories, traditions, and identities that have shaped Texas.
